Fork Lift Operator Training.

Have all your forklift truck operators been trained by an approved instructor?

Are you operators receiving regular refresher training as recommended by the HSE?

If your answer is NO to either of these questions then your fork lift operators require training.

Here at Mexmast we are able to offer the following operator training either at our indoor training centre in Burgess Hill or at your site:

    New and existing operators

For existing operatives with experience but no certificate a 1-day Assessment and Test course is all that is required.

  • For existing certificated operators the HSE recommends a 1-day Refresher course, this is normally carried out every 3 years.

  • For operatives with little or no experience, and 18 years of age or over, a basic training course will be required (minimum 3 days), the covers all the Safety Awareness aspects as well as practical training.

    Conversion courses

The two main types of forklift truck are Counterbalance and Reach Truck, which demand separate certification. We also cater for other types of truck and attachments, under our Familiarization & Testing courses.

  • A two day course is required to convert from Counterbalance to Reach Truck

  • A one course is required to convert from Reach Truck to Counterbalance or from Counterbalance to Side Loader.

For training on your site a full course of 3 operatives is required for any of the courses descripbed above. Alternatively, we hold regular courses at our Training Centre where candidates can come to us individually or in groups of up to 3.

We also provide 'in company' instructor training

All our Instructors/Examiners are registered by accredited training bodies that are recognised by the Health & Safety Commission. Training programmes are in accordance with the "Rider-operated lift trucks: Operator training - Approved Code of Practice and Guidance"
